Pet Foxes 2

In a secret school kept hidden from regular society, Pet Foxes are bred and raised in captivity until they are deemed to be suitable to be sold. But, every once in a while a Bad Fox is created, and then everything gets very... messy...

Last year a Bad Fox emerged at one of our schools. We had to contain her, but, she was too powerful, so in the end we decided to bargain with her. We gave her a small town, and she gave us some of our Pet Foxes to sell as long we agreed to never bother her again.

Unfortunately, Eterna is too valuable for us to guarantee that we'll stay away. Billions of dollars is at stake. Whatever value we lose by allowing our men to die will be outweighed by the billions that can be made with Eterna. We must do what needs to be done and sacrifice what must be sacrificed to destroy the Bad Fox and reclaim Eterna.

They will understand.

The Mexican man wants Darkstar. I told him that he can't have her. He told me that he can pay any price, and I told him that no amount of money is worth the risk. Money only matters if there is a universe to spend it in. When I die, when we all die, money is worthless.

Don't mistake me for a sentimental person or one of those hippies that will say that money isn't as important as creating fond memories with loved ones. I know better than anyone that friendship is fickle, family is overvalued, and most good memories carry a heavy price tag. The only thing that is more valuable to me than money is my own life.

I would not be gambling my life by attempting to take Darkstar, I would be guaranteed to lose it if I got too close to her, as would anyone. But, the Mexican man thinks that he has the power to tame her. He is a fool, and someday his arrogance will get him killed.

My wife nicknamed him Captain Save-A-Whore because he reminds her of similar men back when she was a prostitute. He thinks that he can tame Darkstar with kindness, or with his considerable influence. What he will never understand is that Darkstar only cares about Eterna, and she will burn everything we know, everything we love, and everything we hate to keep him close to her.

I left the old life behind long ago, and They wished me good luck. They told me that I would always be welcome in their homes and They would always be willing to help me. They could stop the Mexican man, but... dare I ask Them for help? Is the situation so dire that They should get involved?

Do They know  how close it is to midnight?

Have you ever wondered what would happen if you woke up with no money in your bank account? All of the wealth that you had ever accumulated over your lifetime just suddenly vanished. That was something that I had been thinking about for a long time because money is the fuel that everything runs on.

Europe, Australia, and Canada all had their wealth completely drained. No one had a single cent in their bank accounts and things got dark really fast.

Where did all of that money go? Well, it turned out that no one in the world owned anything, we were all just borrowing our money, our homes, our food, even our children from the true ruler of the world, and we didn't even know it. With a click of a button she seized the assets of billions of people. The unlucky ones were told to vacate their homes, surrender their children, and fend for themselves in the wilderness.

Why did she need all of that money?  Why would anyone do such a callous thing?

She said the following:

"I have always hated you. I hope that I can finally find something that I can love."

What terrifies me is how They have reacted to what she did.

Habitat 37: The Truth

No administrators were left to supervise the school, so we made the decision that there was no benefit in keeping the school operational, and this provided an opportunity to temporarily trap Cheese The Vampire and Darkstar, two of the greatest threats we face, in a Time Lock until we can decide what is to be done. We can't change the past, but, we can ensure that there won't be a future within Habitat 37, at least for a while.

The school was constructed to raise Pet Foxes away from the world. Pet Foxes represented an existential threat to humanity, and they needed to be contained. Other habitats exist, but we're simply not producing near enough  males. The males are prohibitively expensive, which wouldn't be as much of a problem if the 'people' who could afford them could be considered human, or were capable of breeding. The males are wasted, and every man that breeds with a female Pet Fox is simply diluting the gene pool further.

They are as mysterious as always, at least to me. Candle was aware of their true identity, but very few people including myself are aware of who They even are.

The new staff are incompetent, and I know that is by design. I've dedicated so much time to fixing their mistakes, but I keep seeing more and more mistakes being made. The habitats are all unstable, more and more Bad Foxes keep appearing. Something needs to be done.

I entered Habitat 37 when I learned that Dayassex, The One True Godking, was going to take the male Eterna as his mate. My plan was to work with Enigma, as well as my apprentices, to take Eterna and hide him, then use him as a bargaining tool or for breeding, depending on what I could get away with. But, I was too late, and Enigma was reluctant to help. My apprentices were, unfortunately, deceased when I found them.

But, I promise that I will save the world eventually. The habitats must be destroyed, the Pet Foxes must be eliminated, and above all else, Dayassex must be returned to where he came from.

I must succeed. Failure cannot be an option for me to choose.
