Minor Update / Shout-Out From EFAP/ A Poem

I was listening to a recent episode of EFAP and I heard a reference to my incredibly popular visual novel Pet Foxes 2 uttered by Rags, which isn’t a surprise because he has stated in the past that, much like Icestar, Rags has a deep love for “Frisky fox boys.”

As thanks for the shout-out which has brought immense exposure to my work and brought joy, as well as frisky fox boys (as well as frisky fox girls) to the wider world in order to create a better tomorrow for everyone before the apocalypse claims our lives on Friday (not this Friday, but some Friday in the future), I have decided to write a short poem dedicated to what is best in life.

He posed on the bed and nervously removed his shirt.

Clothes discarded, nervous, he softly asked “Will it hurt?”

He shook his head before he sweetly lied when he said “No.”

Only a demon could see the lie fall out of his mouth like an embryo.

The preparation was skipped. There was much pain.

Thunderous claps. Lightning thrusts. Pouring rain.

The noise from the storm terrified the pet.

Without warning a dry arched spine became wet.

Collapsing on the bed like rain into a puddle.

The boy softly asked if the man wanted to cuddle.

The request was declined, but the boy didn’t whine.

He was simply thankful for the man’s money and time.

In all seriousness, this is a new update that furthers the story, corrects a line of dialogue, and at the request of a friend changes the ‘terrible place’ mentioned from New York to Texas. Have fun.

Side-note: It does kinda bug me that Bob made a good point in one of the videos they covered that they didn’t seem to understand or acknowledge where he attempted to describe the cycle of the alternative becoming mainstream and then eventually being challenged by a new alternative, which is what we’re seeing now with Marvel/Disney. He worded it in a pretty convoluted manner and acted like it was unique to the MCU, but still.

What he meant was that when the MCU started to succeed it was exciting. Nerd-culture had long been a joke, with even just a few years before Iron Man it was still common to mock nerdy things like comic books. When the MCU succeeded hard, along with the popularity of The Big Bang Theory, and the book Ready Player One becoming massively successful, as well as nerd-culture dominating the internet, it felt like nerd-culture was becoming the big mainstream culture, specifically video games and comic books. We’re still seeing the effects of that with a tendency for people involved in nerd-culture to actually be invested in the box office of film franchises when before people didn’t really care about the box office for any movie except when a James Cameron movie became the highest-grossing movie of all-time. At least, I certainly don’t remember the box office of Raimi’s Spider-Man movies or the StarWars Prequel Trilogy box offices being discussed as much as modern Disney box office takes are now.

Now, the MCU is incredibly mainstream so it’s being challenged by new alternatives, like Invincible and The Boys. The problem is two-pronged, which is that the public is less-inclined to support them now than they were in the past, as well as the fact that the quality of the writing and VFX have gone down. So, the king is being challenged for his throne, and he’s barely putting up a fight to keep that throne because he doesn’t think he needs to.

That said, I think it’s important to remember that the individual cares about quality because the individual has their own thoughts and preferences, whereas the collective doesn’t have individual thoughts or preferences, so the collective is easily influenced by social pressure. That basically means that there will be a collective of people who will support a movie because it’s popular on social media because of the social incentives that being popular potentially offers. It’s why “It’s Morbing Time,” became a popular meme, because of the temptation to get free likes on almost every platform using it, which can also be seen with memes like BarbenHeimer. It’s also why EFAP covers pretty much every MCU and Star Wars movie and tv show to some extent.

It’s why I think that the main problem with Disney is that for some reason their marketing department is crap and has absolutely no idea how to properly apply social pressure, which is essential for modern marketing if you’re trying to appeal to young people. The marketing for The Marvels was absolutely terrible, and the marketing for Elemental was embarrassing. Where I live, the city was filled with posters advertising The Marvels, and is currently filled with posters advertising Wish, yet people online, and even people in my city, claimed not to know that either of those movies had even been released, but everyone knew about “It’s Morbing Time,” which makes me think that Disney really needs to update how they decide to market their stuff. It feels weird to say this but I don’t think the quality of the movies is as much of a factor in the decline of the box office of Disney movies as the lousy marketing because the general public thinks that the majority of modern MCU movies are fine.

That’s why my solution to save the MCU is simple: Get Logan Paul as a consultant for the marketing department. Say whatever you want about him, but the guy knows how to promote things on a level that very few social media personalities are able to across multiple platforms. Just run the marketing material through him and if he approves of the strategy, great, if not ask him to give notes on how the marketing material could be improved. I’m sure that this will result in every single Disney project going forward earning $4-7 billion.

All that said, I can’t wait for the Pet Foxes EFAP. I’m sure it’ll be a banger.
