Moving To Steam / Shane Gillis Isn't Funny

Hello, friends, this is my new project and so far it doesn't seem to be getting much attention. I'm noticing that the people who are playing it seem to be immediately adding it to a collection, so I assume the project is at least decent, but for whatever reason it isn't getting as much attention as other projects that I've done. It might be a slower-growing project like Werewolf Labyrinth School which did become more popular later on after it ended, but not even close to my other projects, notably Pet Foxes and Almost A Kiss.

What I'm thinking of doing is taking the leap to Steam with Werewolf Labyrinth School, this project,  A Streamer's Fantasy, and an edited version of Something Left. I don't really feel like the direction that I want to take, which is more of a young adult direction with nods towards more explicit content without turning into full-on porn, is a direction that this site is capable of supporting me on. I'm also putting my focus on my TikTok channel (BaxxyBoy) where I've started publishing gimmicky songs where I use my lower-range to create Outsider Music which focuses heavily on processed electronic beats and synths alongside my odd 'monster' vocals.

Anyways, I thought I'd bring up something in this devlog that's been on my mind for a while. Shane Gillis has been praised for being one of the best comedians working right now, selling out stadiums, appearing on Joe Rogan, getting praised from highly-respected comedians, and I just don't think he's funny.

But, it's kinda developed into an outright dislike for the guy because I'm seeing this terrible person who uses self-deprecation to dodge criticism, while also clearly getting upset when people don't laugh at his jokes or even agree with his self-deprecation. It's the worst of both worlds because it's incredibly transparent what he's doing when he'll say something like "I'm not very funny as a comedian. I don't know how I got here or how I sell out stadiums," and then if someone responds with "Yeah, I totally agree. You aren't funny, and it is weird that you sell out stadiums," he'll respond with "Hey, screw you, I did a show last week and every single person in that stadium was laughing at every single joke I told."

It is absolutely bizarre. When I see Shane Gillis brought up by people as a comedy legend and one of the funniest comedians currently working, then show me clips of him on podcasts and of him on-stage telling jokes I'm thinking "How can you like this guy? He's not only extremely unfunny but from what I've seen in interviews and on podcasts he's a pretty nasty person."

What I wonder is if Shane will eventually become another one of the Rogan-promoted comedians who are extremely well-liked and successful until they aren't and it seems like everyone hates them or at least is comfortable saying that they aren't very funny.
